Advanced dispersion for industrial applications

The Rmixx RMZ inline dispersing machines, also known as “high-shear mixers”, have a modular design and work on the rotor-stator principle. They are widely used in a broad range of industries, such as the chemical, food, pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries. The machines are characterised by rotors that run past the stators with a small radial clearance at high speed, reaching tip speeds of more than 50 m/s.

  • High shear gradients: the machine generates (very) high shear forces that mix liquids and solids in a short time
  • Dispersing in a recirculation process or fully inline (from A to B)
  • Suitable for a wide range of applications, such as mixing emulsions, dispersing powders and homogenising liquids.
  • Thanks to its high efficiency, it requires less energy than more conventional processes
  • Designed entirely in accordance with the EHEDG hygiene guidelines, so the machine is easy to clean in place (CIP).
  • Because all particles are forced through the inline rotor-stator, a controlled, narrow droplet size distribution can be achieved in emulsions
  • Self-pumping action possible with low- and medium-viscosity products
  • Tip speeds of more than 50 m/s

How the inline dispersing machine works

  1. The product is fed through a configuration of rotor and stator rings.
  2. The inner rotor ring accelerates the liquid to the maximum, after which the stator ring decelerates it as much as possible, before the next rotor ring accelerates it to the maximum again.
  3. In this way, solids and/or droplets are effectively reduced in size and homogeneously distributed.

Direct, highly reliable drive for a very long service life

The direct-drive RMZ features a solid coupling housing, which eliminates time-consuming, specialist alignment work. As standard, it is fitted with an easily accessible claw coupling.

As an option, a freewheel coupling can be fitted, which greatly reduces damage to the machine caused by foreign objects. This freewheel coupling is very easy to reset, so you are fully operational again in no time.

Seal liquid system with easily exchangeable cartridge seal

The RMZ features a top-quality seal housing with a quick-change cartridge seal, consisting of a double mechanical seal that meets the strict EHEDG hygiene requirements.
The Seal Liquid System provides good protection and easy access to the seal connections for service and inspection, keeping downtime and maintenance to a minimum.

  • Liquid throughput: 0.2 – 100 m³/h

  • Dispersing chamber material: stainless steel 1.4404 (AISI 316 L) (standard). Special materials available.
  • Seals: in accordance with EHEDG standards. Standard cartridge mechanical seal in a seal housing with barrier fluid lubrication and cooling; other configurations available on request.
